California Fire Foundation awards Graniteville Fire $15,000

The California Fire Foundation has granted the Graniteville Fire Company $15,000 for Wildland Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This marks the first time in the 28-year history of the department that all personnel have new Wildland PPE. Historically, Graniteville has relied on old, donated, Wildland PPE from other county fire agencies and CalFire.

It seemed appropriate to model this new equipment at the new Graniteville schoolhouse flagpole donated in memory of Chief Paul Stone and Captain Bernie Bishop. Both individuals were instrumental in bringing fire protection and emergency medical service to the community of Graniteville.
