Graniteville, California

A historic mining town in the Sierra Nevada mountains

Autumn Days in Graniteville

Was just up in Graniteville this past weekend, and there was snow on the ground! Many trees and plants were caught by surprise and flattened out or broken off.  By Sunday afternoon, most of it had melted away.  It was a beautful Autumn weekend.  Many hunters going through town – I think the deer have all vanished. Lots of logging trucks going through all summer, hopefully they have stopped and the locals can get some sleep since they usually start rolling in around 3am.  The Winter folks are splitting wood and getting ready for the Winter.
