It’s officially Spring. The county plowed all the way into town (thank you!). There is still plenty of snow and mud but I spotted some daffodils breaking through. The creek is roaring and it’s warming up!

This winter will go down in the history books for the monumental amount of snow that it has brought to the Sierras. The drought is officially over. These photos were taken in March. It just snowed 3-4 more feet this past weekend.

Last year there was not much snow in February but this year there was a big wind storm that unfortunately did some damage (flattened the outhouse at the schoolhouse), followed by a blizzard that brought in 5′ of snow. Here are some photos taken between 2/6-2/9

Graniteville had a very mild Winter. This latest Spring storm brought a dusting as shown in this photo taken this morning. Should be warm and sunny by this weekend! There is a troublesome bear in town, helping himself (herself?) to food so be on the lookout!
